My skincare routine

When I say it took me forever to find a skincare routine that actually worked for me, I’m not joking.

Like a lot of us, I got trapped in the trendy TikTok videos, where toothpaste and band-aids made for blisters were being used as skincare alternatives. As someone with stress-induced eczema and combination skin that doesn’t like to be messed with, such trendy products and hacks were … let’s just say, brutal.

So, I paired down what I was using on my skin on a daily basis and found what I can only consider to my own holy grail. Like everything, take what I do with a grain of salt, as everyone’s skin is different.

A.M. Skincare:

  • I start by washing my face with the Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cleansing Cream. I swear by this stuff, it really has calmed my red-prone skin down so much.

  • Next up in the morning is eye cream. I am a fan of the Summer Friday Vitamin C + Peptide eye cream, as well as the Avocado eye cream from Kiehl’s.

  • Next up is a moisturizer. For daytime, I really like the Honest Daily Calm Lightweight moisturizer. You can pick this up from Target and I swear it’s the most slept on product.

  • Lastly is sunscreen. I use the Estée Lauder Futurist Hydrating tinted sunscreen if I want a little skin coverage, or the Kiehl’s Better Screen SPF 50+ when coverage isn’t needed. A little bit of Dr. Bronner’s chapstick, and I’m ready to go.

P.M. Skincare:

  • Just like the morning, I use the same Korres cleanser at night. I know it can be a little controversial to wash your face in the morning and evening, but due to the amount I workout and sweat, I have found that keeping my skin clean is really important.

  • Next is my actual favorite serum maybe of all time, the Glow Recipe Avocado Soothing Skin Barrier serum. For all my red-leaning girls, this is the best out there.

  • Once or twice a week, I will also use the Kiehl’s Ultra Pure High Potency Niacinamide serum, again to help minimize redness.

  • Once or twice a week, I will also use the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I’ve found that this really helps hydrate my skin and combat fine lines.

  • And lastly, one or twice a week, I use the retinol serum from Roc.

  • From here, I go back in with one of my eye creams, usually the Kiehl’s avocado since it’s a little thicker.

  • Lastly is a nighttime moisturizer. I swear by the Biossance Squalane + Probiotic Balancing Gel option, it lays on so thick and and has a cooling effect. If anything has been responsible for clearing up and controlling my redness and eczema, it’s this.

  • Finally, I use the Sugar overnight lip mask from Fresh, and call it a night.
